On May 27, the Tourism Laboratory of the Faculty of Business and Technology at Caucasus International University organized a seminar/competition within the framework of the “Tour Operating” course, (lecturer - Lali Mikeladze). The third-year students of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Tourism presented simulated travel companies.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, Ketevan Nanobashvili, while the competition jury was composed of: Lali Mikeladze, Associate Professor and Head of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Tourism; Heads of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Business Administration (in Georgian and English), Tinatin Doliashvili, Associate Professor and Nino Rukhaia-Mosemgvdlishvili, Associate Professor.
The simulated travel company project serves multiple important functions in developing student competencies. This practical assignment bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, enhancing both professional and personal skills. The project facilitates a wide range of competencies, including: Tourism business management, service development, itinerary and logistics planning, customer relations, budgeting and cost estimation, pricing strategies, risk analysis, creativity and innovation.
Among the nine student-founded travel company projects presented, the committee selected VVA Company (Ani Zhuzhunashvili, Nini Gegelashvili) as the best project by majority vote. Additionally, the Most Creative Services Award was given to GEOWONDER (Ana Davitadze, Ani Tsikaridze). The winning students were awarded certificates and special prizes established by the Head of the Tourism Laboratory.
