On June 25, a new multifunctional square was officially opened in Khoni Municipality in a ceremonial atmosphere.
The new space was opened by Lado Jurkhadze, Mayor of Khoni Municipality, and Gela Chogovadze, Deputy Chairman of the City Council.
It is noteworthy that the multifunctional square was co-financed by Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, Chancellor of Caucasus International University.
The event was attended by Gerasime Mzhavanadze, First Deputy Mayor, Beka Managadze, a representative of Caucasus International University, as well as other representatives of the local government.
“This square has quickly become one of the most popular gathering places in our city. Every evening, I see young people, children, and adults coming together here. I can confidently say the project has been a great success.
When we first began discussing the idea, it was especially important for me to have a reliable partner from the private sector involved in this meaningful initiative. I am truly pleased that Mr. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze — a figure highly respected by the people of Khoni — expressed a willingness to collaborate. Thanks to his active engagement and co-financing, along with support from the German Agency for International Cooperation, we were able create this new space” – stated Lado Jurkhadze.
The multifunctional square located on Solomon II Street has been designed in accordance with modern standards to serve citizens of all ages. The space features recreational areas, a children’s playground, a sports zone, and an open public space suitable for hosting cultural and educational events.
The project was implemented through joint funding from the local budget, the European Union, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and Caucasus International University.
