On June 5–6, Caucasus International University hosted open lectures as part of the courses delivered by Nana Parinos, PhD, Associate Professor and Head of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in English Language and Literature. These lectures were held within the framework of the courses: English for Tourism 2 and English for International Relations 2.
Within the framework of the course English for Tourism 2, students conducted simulation activities that demonstrated key aspects of Front Office operations, including greeting a guest, handling a complaint via phone, booking and configuring a conference room, and bidding farewell to a guest.
Students of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in International Relations presented the Congress of Vienna of 1814-1815, which is one of the classic examples of the balance of power. The students presented in English the meetings held to review the political map of Europe. The script, which the students created as part of the lecture course, presents reality and dystopia, which envisages the creation of a new character - a “guest from the future”, who observes the course of the congress and makes certain political remarks (notes) for the audience. The scenes included diplomatic meetings, a discussion of Prussian strategy, a meeting in a secret room, and backstage conversations of the ball.
The event was attended by Associate Professor Alika Guchua, Head of the Bachelor’s Rducational Program in International Relations, Professor Ketevan Nanobashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, Professor Jemal Sologhashvili, Deputy Dean, and Associate Professor.
