On May 23, Caucasus International University hosted the 2nd International Student Conference - “Contemporary Challenges in International Relations, International Law, and Media” in a hybrid format.
The conference was organized jointly by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Faculty of Law at Caucasus International University, along with the Faculty of Eurasian Studies at Jagiellonian University (Poland) and the University of Applied Sciences named after Józef Gołuchowski (Poland).
At the official opening ceremony, welcome speeches were delivered by: Ekaterine Chalaghanidze, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Caucasus International University; George Khatidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Caucasus International University; Vakhtang Maisaia, Head of the Master’s Educational Program in International Relations and International Security (in English) / Global Politics and Security Studies; Vakhtang Kapanadze, Major-General, CIU Associate Professor and International Security Expert; Vladimer Imnadze, Brigadier General, Advisor to the Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs; Gela Giorgadze, Brigadier General, CIU Assistant Professor; Niko Tatulashvili, Head of the Human Rights Department at the Administration of the Government of Georgia, CIU Associate Professor; Jachin Dietz (Poland), Director of Eurasian Studies at Jagiellonian University, Kraków; Przemysław Furgacz, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Ostrowiec University of Applied Sciences.
The conference featured the following thematic panels: Global Politics and Security; Media and Modern Technologies; Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence; International Law; International Relations and Cybersecurity; Conflicts and Contemporary International Security Processes; Contemporary Political Processes.
About 100 representatives from Georgia and various countries presented papers at the conference, and the papers in each section were evaluated by industry experts/professors.
