On June 13, the Fifth International Scientific Conference “The Academic Community Against Transnational Organized Crime” was organized by the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the Georgian Academy of Criminology Sciences, which has the status of a special consultant to the UN ECOSOC, and Grigol Robakidze University. The conference was dedicated to the memory of Professor Tinatin Tsereteli, a corresponding member of the Georgian Academy of Sciences.
Professor George Khatidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Caucasus International University, Doctor of Law, and a member of the Georgian Academy of Criminology Sciences, delivered a presentation at the conference titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence Against Transnational Organized Crime: Legal and Technological Aspects.” In the presentation, he placed emphasis on the growing role of artificial intelligence and legal technologies in combating transnational organized crime. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of synchronizing legal frameworks with technological advancements, reinforcing international cooperation, upholding ethical standards in AI application, and developing comprehensive international legal instruments and oversight mechanisms.
The conference brought together scientists, researchers, and academic representatives from both Georgia and abroad—including participants from the United States and Poland—who presented their own research and findings.
