On June 12, the presentation of the book Sustainable MICE (Business) Tourism Management was held at Niko Nikoladze Conference Hall of Caucasus International University. The book is co-authored by Associate Professor Lali Mikeladze, Head of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Tourism, and Associate Professor Nana Akhalaia.
During the presentation, the authors introduced the audience to the key topics covered in the book, including the concept and significance of MICE tourism, as well as innovations and sustainability. They highlighted that this is the first textbook in Georgia dedicated specifically to sustainable business tourism management. The authors also placed emphasis on the importance of the book for students as well as field specialists and academics.
The event was moderated by Ketevan Nanobashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, who focused on the importance of the book and the experience of the authors. At the end of the presentation, Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector and Marina Gedevanishvili, Head of the Quality Assurance Service positively evaluated the authors’ contribution. They noted that the textbook will play a significant role not only in enhancing the academic life and educational process of the faculty, but also in enriching the entire university.
The event was attended by the heads of the bachelor’s educational programs in tourism of Tbilisi higher educational institutions, representatives of the business sector, the head of the Georgian Tourism Association (GTA), as well as the leadership of Caucasus International University, administrative/academic staff of the Faculty of Business and Technology, professors and instructors implementing the tourism program, and students.
