Professor George Khatidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Caucasus International University, and Professor Zviad Gabisonia, Advisor to the Chancellor for Science and Innovation, are participating in the international conference “From Bytes to Benefits” organized by the Estonian E-Governance Academy. The event is held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and is co-hosted by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Estonian International Development Center.
The conference brings together 650 participants from 85 countries, including leading global experts in e-governance and technology law, as well as representatives from public and private sectors. Keynote speakers include the President of Estonia, the Estonian Ministers of Justice and Digital Affairs, the Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer of Microsoft, and the Executive Director of the Estonian E-Governance Academy. Topics covered at the conference include the implementation and advancement of e-governance systems, legal frameworks for emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, the use of high-tech electronic signatures, and cybersecurity in digital public services. International delegates also shared international experiences in these areas.
It is noteworthy that the participation of Professor George Khatidze and Professor Zviad Gabisonia is part of the research project “Legal and Technological Challenges of Digital Governance Implementation in Georgia (Based on the Example of Estonian Experience)”, which was awarded a fundamental scientific grant by Caucasus International University. The Estonian E-Governance Academy is an international partner of the project.
Within the framework of the conference, the Georgian professors held meetings with the Executive Director of the Estonian E-Governance Academy, the Head of Digital Strategy, the Third-Party Relations Manager, and other experts in the field. Discussions focused on the outcomes and key findings of the joint research project, as well as future collaboration opportunities in digital governance and legal innovation.
